Step 8: Activate Listing
Conduct your final review of the listing. During your final review, we recommend you do the following:
- Submission of photos triggers a Media Upload - Pending Marketing Review task in Scenic Connect for our Listing Coordinator to perform. After a satisfactory review, the listing status will change from Draft to Good to Launch, and a Request Listing Activation task will appear in the Tasks List. Submit this task only after you have activated the listing in MLS as described below.
- Add features to the listing in Scenic Connect. Many lifestyle features are added by default. Those that do not apply to your listing may be removed. Adding features enhances the search presence of the listing on sothebysrealty.com and the many sites it syndicates to. Click here to watch a video demo.
- Verify that you have added contact information for your seller(s) in Scenic Connect. If seller contact information has been entered into Scenic Connect prior to the listing being activated in Scenic Connect, the seller report is automatically scheduled to send on the 1st and 15th of each month. If activation takes place around the 1st or 15th of the month, the seller report may be delayed until the next scheduled date. Click here to watch a video demo.
- Copy the property description from Scenic Connect into MLS. Click here to watch a video demo.

- Upon receiving feedback from your seller(s), make the requested changes in MLS, and if necessary, in Scenic Connect. Activate the listing in MLS and add the MLS number to Scenic Connect. Once the MLS number has been added, a two-way connection between Scenic Connect and the selected MLS system(s) is established which ensures the listing details below are synchronized:
- List Price
- Expiration Date
- Square Feet
- Bedrooms
- Full Baths
- Half Baths
- Open House Days and Times
- Submit the Request Listing Activation task in Scenic Connect. Doing so prompts our Listing Coordinator to conduct their final review of the listing in Scenic Connect. The listing will be activated in Scenic Connect once the review has been completed.
- If you selected Complete Listing Coordination during your completion of the Listing Marketing Services task in Scenic Connect, a two-step seller email campaign will be prepared once the listing has syndicated and our quality control check has been performed. You will receive a proof of these emails via Scenic Connect. Once approved, the emails will be scheduled to send to your seller(s) via ActivePipe. Templates are available in ActivePipe for each of these emails which you may send out on your own if you did not select Complete Listing Coordination. Click here to watch a video demo.
